Only the stone walls remained during this conversion from an 1883 winery to a residence. A new interior shell of reinforced concrete was built to carry the new loads and to provide earthquake resistance.
The French Country theme included new second and attic levels, as well as a kitchen/breakfast room wing. Portions of the interior were designed to incorporate the reuse of architectural artifacts from various California and European locations. The finished building is now an indigenous part of early Napa Valley architecture.
