Country Residence St. Helena, California Only the stone walls remained during this conversion from an 1883 winery to a residence. A new interior shell of reinforced concrete was built to carry the new loads and to provide earthquake resistance.

The Comstock Club The Payne House 1409 Sutter Street, San Francisco The Payne House was built in 1881. It is an excellent example of the transitional period between San Francisco Victorian and Queen Anne styles and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
